Ekurhuleni’s introduction of an Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network (IRPTN), known as Harambee, was the City’s solution to spatial transformation and boosting the economy of the Municipality.

Increased access to transport, enhanced modes of transport and commuter facilities was included in the scope. We drew on our experience to develop a comprehensive and integrated strategy that saw PR, stakeholder engagement and public participation as key drivers of the strategy. Our expertise in brand development ensured that we develop a brand for the system that was clearly identifiable and resonated with the community.

We implemented an intensive public participation campaign with various engagement sessions, including marginalised groups like people with disabilities, vendors, school learners and businesses along the route.

PR and media relations were critical in keeping stakeholders informed and we hosted various activations including media tours to raise awareness about the project and to create excitement.
